Kid’s Ministry

We are so excited to have you in our Kids Ministry at St. Marks! Fall 2025 is planned to be full of exciting events, weekday ministries and Sunday Worship.

Our Mission is to meet children at their level of development, to teach them the love of Christ and the joy of His forgiveness and salvation, to help them learn the truth of His Word and to encourage their growth within the body of Believers.

St. Mark’s Kids meets in Asbury Kids Building for Sunday School, Tween Ministry and Wednesday Night Workshops.

We use Think Orange Curriculum for all ages 5th Grade down to our Nursery. This year we will be journeying through the Bible, one book at a time. In August, we began with Genesis and will continue that through to the end of the Bible.

Kids Check-In Desks are located in our Big Room upstairs and at the entrance of the building on the PreK floor. Parents are given a Child Tag and a Guardian Tag. Children will keep their tag for the classroom and Guardians/Parents will provide their tag at the end of class during pick up.

Our Servant Leaders in Kids Ministries are background checked and approved by our Kids Ministry team. We have a Safe Sanctuary policy that guides our teachers on best practices and Corrective Action Plans that have been approved by our Children’s Council for classroom management.

Saint Mark’s Kids

Nursery

St. Mark’s Nursery is available at all services, including the Sunday School Hour between services. We are also available on Wednesday Nights beginning at 5:15 pm – 7:00 pm for you to go enjoy small groups or bible study classes, while your child learns and plays in a safe environment with trained staff.

We are so blessed to have Donna Phillips as our Nursery Coordinator for the six Nursery staff workers to develop such an amazing space for our 8 week – 3 Year Olds.

St. Mark’s Nursery is located in the Sanctuary Building. 

Nursery Check-In Desk is located at the entrance of the Nursery Rooms in the Sanctuary Building. We ask that you manually check in your child with our Nursery Coordinator for drop off and pick up. 

We will ask about acceptable snacks, potty training and other care questions so that we provide the best care possible while they are with us. Our staff will utilize your phone number you provide to text if there are any issues or questions.

Sunday School

An understanding of discipleship begins with the foundation of God’s Word and an understanding of His love for each one of us.

All children’s Sunday School classes, ages 3 through 5th grade will be using Orange Curriculum. This is a Christ-centered curriculum that helps kids understand that all Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, points to Jesus Christ. An additional resource is the take home devotional for the week that points them to their lessons and memory verses.

Sunday School Schedule: 5th Grade & Below – 9:30-10:30 am in the Asbury Building

Kindergarten – 5th Grade are located upstairs and drop off is in the Big Room at 9:30 am. Pick up from their classrooms.
PreK 3’s & 4’s are located on the 1st floor. Pick Up and Drop Off at the classroom.

Children’s Church

Let the children come… Jesus was a big advocate of children learning and building their faith.
He believed in the strength of a child with faith. At St. Mark’s, we are in community aiding in the spiritual formation of our kids.

Children’s Church is an opportunity for kids to be in an active learning environment, developing their understanding of how to Worship. We believe in these 30 minute sessions, we can fully engage our kids to the gospel teachings. We utilize the same Bible Lesson from Sunday School and reinforce the lessons through songs, activities and games.

We invite our Pre-K through 5 year olds to come and learn during this time.  Why those age groups? Because we want them to grow into their faith and be able to understand the importance of worshiping together as a Church Body.

Children’s Church Schedule: 8:20 & 10:45 Worship Services —Dismissal to Children’s Church during Service to Asbury Hall Room 102

11th Hour Worship Service—Dismissal to Children’s Church during Service to an upstairs classroom in the Christian Life Center.

Check In: Make sure to note on the attendance pad if you sent your child to Children’s Church.
If you are new, please have at least one parent to come to the Children’s Church room with your child/children.

Wednesday Night Workshops

We LOVE Wednesday’s at St. Marks UMC.
This is our time to break bread together and then to break out into some amazing small groups, learning the gospel and doing life with one another.

Tweens Ministry

This is a ministry time dedicated to our 3rd-5th Grade Students. Our -In-Between-Ers. We give them time and space once per month to come to Asbury Hall or go out on an adventure day to prepare them for Youth and grow spiritually.
